Have you try making money with squidoo ?.Last month a colleague asked me to give Squidoo a try. So after much research, I signed up and placed a few lenses online with the goal to complete one new lens every week over the next few months. To make sure I understood how Squidoo worked and what made the lenses profitable, I researched various lenses and their lens makers. The formula for making money with Squidoo seems pretty cut and dry: create great content and promote the heck out of the pages. There is, however, one caveat: the lenses that receive the highest ratings tend to be lenses that have a good balance between: content, resources, and targeted advertisements (i.e. affiliate links).

Here are the tips I've used with my own online endeavors and which have been confirmed for success with Squidoo.

• Find a niche. Choose a broad topic you want to become an expert in or a topic you really enjoy. Write a single lens on that niche, then branch out into other lenses as they relate to that niche.

• Choose a single topic per lens. Focus on one part of your niche within each lens; instead of writing a broad, generalized lens that briefly discusses many areas within that niche.

• Write something concrete. Share information that isn't readily available on the Internet. Don’t be afraid to include resources you can’t easily find online. Share information based upon your own personal experiences.

• Offer a variety of lenses within your niche. Write how-to articles, quick tips, holiday related material, and personal experience essays. Include a gallery of samples and/or images, recommended websites, and supplies.

• Keep paragraphs short. Shorter paragraphs are easier to read online so keep them between 2 and 5 sentences. Each module should have no more than 2 to 3 paragraphs with a 100 word introduction.

• Break up the article with sales tools. Sales tools, otherwise known as money makers, are affiliate programs and/or products you sell yourself. With traditional magazine articles, the ads usually accompany the article via a side bar, the adjoining page, or sometimes above or below the article itself.

With Squidoo, the ads are a little more intrusive. They tend to be placed within the actual content itself and can look something like this: introduction, sales tool, part 1, resource, sales tool, part 2, resource, sales tool, part 3, sales tool, conclusion, sales tool, guest book. It’s also important to label each sales tool, especially if it doesn’t necessarily match the overall theme of the lens, i.e: Clothing for Pregnant Women or Work at Home attire for busy moms. Finally, if you sell a product or service that doesn’t fit the lens, but you want the reader to be aware of it, place it under your guestbook so that it’s less intrusive.

• Cross promote your lenses. Recommend one of your old lenses in one of your new lenses. Share your lenses with your newsletter readers, with your Twitter friends, on Facebook, in a byline on a forum, as a resource in another article on another site, or in a paid advertisement.

• Include images. Each lens should have at least one relevant image (preferably 3) and the image title should include a keyword relevant to the lens. When using images in your lens, make sure you own the copyrights to those images; don't just snag them off the 'net. Purchase them through a stock agency or create your own.

• Be personable and approachable. Include a guestbook and reply to commenters—either on Squidoo or personally by checking out their lenses.

• Update your old lenses with new information from time-to-time.

• Promote your lenses off site through social networking, forums, chats, article bylines, search engines, and various directories.

Well, the answer depends a lot on your personality and HOW you want to sell. In other words, the first question should not be "what sells well on the internet", but "what method of selling am I most comfortable with?"

There are essentially three ways to sell products on the internet. Let’s look at each method and the see the advantages and disadvantages of each.

First Method: Buy Wholesale and Sell Retail

This method is as old as human history. Find a product your niche wants, locate a wholesale source for that product, set up your online home business, advertise the product on your web site and ship the product to your customer.

Advantages:

1. You maintain complete control over the sales and delivery process.

You decide how much to mark up the wholesale price, not someone else. You also have control over when the item is shipped to your customer, not someone else halfway across the country!

2. You can shop around for the best wholesale price.

3. You can recommend your other products when someone purchases your product.

Disadvantages:

1. You will end up shipping packages everyday.

2. You will have to pay upfront for inventory and have a place to store it in your home.

Second Method: Recommend Products for a Commission

This is also called affiliate marketing. You recommend someone else’s product using a special hyper-link called an affiliate link. There is a lot of affiliate marketing information online.

Commissions can range from 5% of an order for camping gear to 50% of an information product priced at $1500! Affiliate marketing works for physical products, services, ebooks and anything else under the sun.

The key is finding product owners that see the value in sharing a percentage of the sale with those willing to be volunteer sales people for their product. Product owners that see the value of residual income with an online business.

Advantages:

3. Although most product owners are honest and want to keep their affiliates happy, you have no leverage when it comes to getting paid. You do not control the money.

Third Method: Create your own product.

This is my favorite way to make money every day online! Once you learn to start an online business, creating your own products is a great way to follow your passion AND sell products that no one else is selling!

Advantages:

1. You have complete control over the sales and delivery process. You determine the price for your own product and you can even cut out the delivery costs be creating a downloadable product.

2. You will gain a huge sense of satisfaction, not to mention instant expert status!

3. You can find a need and then meet it. Creating your own product allows you to be very flexible and meet a targeted need in a very specialized niche.

4. There is no competition for your particular product. You are the ONLY ONE selling your products, unless you allow others to sell it for you, but you have complete control.

Disadvantages:

1. You can waste a lot of time and money if you have not researched your niche properly.

2. You must find a daily source of new customers.

3. You must find others to help promote your product.

So there you have it - the three basic methods of selling products on the internet. Hopefully, you can look at the advantages and disadvantages of each and determine which method is right for you. Recently, I wrote about how you need to put in a fair amount of hard work before your online business becomes successful - there is no such thing as an 'overnight success'. Despite this, setting up and running an Internet business is a hundred times easier today than it was, say, five years ago. There are just so many more services and products available to assist you and I got to wondering how much easier things could really get? This week, the UK Post Office has announced a new free service which allows people to buy their stamps online. You simply pay for the stamps you require with a credit/debit card and then print off a label to stick on your envelope. I haven't used the service yet but as far as I can tell, the label even includes the address to which the letter is going so you don't even need to write it out (or print off a second label)! A similar service has been in operation in the US for some time but this is fairly new technology in the UK.

Just think how much time this new service could potentially save the average eBay seller.... One of the main reasons I stopped selling on eBay was because I couldn't stand queuing up in the Post Office to get stamps for my packages. Using the new online service, I could just print off my stamps and then drop all of my letters/small packages straight into the letterbox. There would be no need to even go into the Post Office. Admittedly this might not be the case for larger parcels but the PO/couriers will pick these up from your house for regular senders (how much easier can it get?!) The other thing I used to have to do was venture out to buy packing materials from a local office supplies company. Of course, there is no longer any need to do this as for several years it has been possible to get all of your packing materials (and in fact pretty much anything else) delivered to your door.

In addition the prices are cheaper than the local stores too! Whilst taking my packages etc the Post Office, I also used to have to visit the bank to pay cheques/checks in and then wait for them to clear. Again, this hasn't been necessary for years with the growth of services such as Paypal and NoChex. Now all an online trader needs to do is check their email! With so much of the offline world gradually coming online, it is already perfectly possible to run an Internet business without ever leaving your house. I used to joke that if the mood took me, that I could run my businesses without ever getting out of bed. This was never completely true since there would always be one or two tasks that I couldn't do from the comfort of my home but these are getting fewer and fewer. So we are heading towards a situation whereby you can build and manage your own business without ever going outside, without ever talking to anyone and if you wish, without ever getting out of bed! Not only that but this business has the potential to earn you more money than you would ever earn by doing the exact opposite (ie. going out and working). Ok, staying in bed for the rest of your life may not be the best thing for you and the lack of social interaction would probably drive you mad but is it just me that finds this possibility an incredible thing? I mean, how much easier can it get?

Finally here's an easy way to make money online. I'll show you exactly how to make a recurring monthly income of $5,280 in as little as 12 months. And I will use very conservative numbers.
First find and join an excellent company that pays you at least $20 for every person that signs up through your link. Make sure they have great products and an amazing salespage. And preferably a company with a proven track record that's been around for awhile.

Then invest $100 every month promoting your link for this company. You can always invest more if you want to get faster results. Spend this money placing solo ads in ezines that are related to business opportunities. You should be able to get at least 1 new sign-up for every $50 you invest. (This is very a conservative number).

Now keep investing the $100 monthly plus reinvest all your profits that you get from your new sign-ups. You will use this money to send out more solo ads. And just keep repeating this every month. It may be a little slow at first but it will pick up momentum in a few months. And by the end of the year you will be investing and making lots of money.
